The choir was founded on 17 November 1999 under the umbrella of the Sevda-Cenap And Music Foundation working with all its resources for the promotion, adoption and development of polyphonic music in our country.

The aim of the choir is:

  • To enable women to produce via music
  • The continue their unfinished education
  • To reveal their hidden talents
  • To make best use of their free time
  • The establish bonds of love and friendship with music
  • Orginise concerts to reach different audiences and spread polyphonic music

A NEW CATALOG FROM SEVDA – CENAP AND MUSIC FOUNDATION

Sevda-Cenap And Music Foundation published a catalogue for the Women’s Choir.
The SCAMF Women’s Choir which started on 17 November 1999 with seven members concucted by Cihan Can is now continuing to grow with its 66 chorists. The question asked by the Head of the Executive Board of the Foundation, Mehmet Başman “ Why don’t women exploit their spare time with music?” lead to the foundation of this choir.

The choir was founded on 17 November 1999 under the umbrella of the Sevda-Cenap And Music Foundation working with all its resources for the promotion, adoption and development of polyphonic music in our country.

The choir members are formed by women, some retired some active, coming from different professions such as; banker, teacher, accountant, dentist, agricultural engineer, housewife, actress, medical doctor, transporter and journalist who have all started as amateurs and now are proffessionel chorists. Those who have contributed to reach this proffessionalis are Müfide Özgüç; one of the bests sopranos of Turkey, Zuhal Kaynar; a music trainer who deveoted her life to music and Ayşe Ediz; one of the reknown pianists of the Presidential Symphony Orchestra. The choir has given 38 concerts in Turkey and abroad with a reportory of more than 100 songs.
